Principal's Corner

Principal's Message

Welcome to North District Middle School,

We are excited about this upcoming school year and are expecting GREAT things this year at NDMS.  Our staff and students are “Wolverine Proud” of our 21st Century facility.  Our school’s theme, “Change is Inevitable, Progress Is Intentional”, reflects our school’s goal for this year which is to give every student a first-class education at North District.  Although we are proud of our past successes, we want to soar even higher.  We had a 94% passage rate on the Algebra I and English I EOC Tests with 26% making perfect scores on Algebra I and 11% on English I this past school year. Additionally,   NDMS students earned over 200 Carnegie Credits for high school and 29% of them made the Honor Roll.  Members of the Junior BETA Club placed second in book competitions held at the convention in January. The Volleyball and Football teams were Conference Champions and several of our students placed 1st and 2nd in track.

North District Middle School(NDMS) is a TAP school and our TAP Leadership Team, along with our career teachers, work collaboratively on an ongoing basis planning, designing, and delivering rigorous and relevant instruction.  Weekly cluster and department meetings are focused on evaluations, self-reflections from observations, and the sharing of proven, best instructional practices.

One of our desires is to establish a more effective partnership with our parents, community members, and businesses within our community.  We are having a fall and spring “Family Math and Science Night” and a fall “Family Literacy Night”.  NDMS has formed a partnership with Low Country Food Bank(LCFB) from Charleston and we will be assisting families once a month by giving a way bags of groceries to those in need.

As principal of North District Middle School, I want the parents and community to know that you are welcome to visit us at NDMS. We want to hear from you! We need to hear you!!  You have some ideas that will help make NDMS an even better school and we welcome your input.

Please come by and see the great things going on at NDMS.
